What to Expect on Your Wedding Day (and After)
On the Day – How I Work
Your wedding day isn’t a photoshoot — it’s a day you get to live. My job is to quietly document it as it unfolds, stepping in only when needed and blending into the background the rest of the time.
Speeches & Dinner
Speeches are photographed in the same relaxed, unobtrusive way — capturing reactions, laughter, and emotion without interrupting the flow.
When food is served, I step away and leave you to enjoy your meal in peace.
Evening & Dancing
I’ll return in time for the evening celebrations, capturing the atmosphere as the dancefloor fills up. I usually stay until around the third dance, making sure you have plenty of energy-filled, joyful moments from the night.

The Ceremony
During the ceremony, I work unobtrusively, moving gently and keeping out of the way so the focus stays exactly where it should be — on the two of you.
If the ceremony is indoors, I do use flash when needed to make sure your photos are well-lit and true to the moment, but always in a respectful, considered way.

Morning Prep
I’ll arrive around two hours before the ceremony to capture the getting-ready moments.
This is usually spent mostly with one of you, but I’ll always pop in briefly to see the other too — just enough to document those final moments without adding any pressure.
Think calm details, natural moments, and the atmosphere as it builds.

After the Ceremony
Once you’re officially married, you’ll have a short window to relax, celebrate, and be with your guests before we jump into group photos.
When it’s time, we’ll work through the group shots efficiently — starting with the largest groups first and gradually working down until it’s just the two of you. This keeps things moving smoothly and gets everyone back to enjoying the day as quickly as possible.
After that, I’ll focus on:
-
Natural, candid moments
-
The little details you might not notice on the day
-
The in-between moments that really tell the story
Frequently Asked Questions
Will you help us feel comfortable in front of the camera?
Yes — and this is something I care about a lot.
Most couples tell me they’re nervous about being photographed, and that’s completely normal. I’ll guide you when needed but never over-direct. The aim is for things to feel relaxed and natural, so you can focus on each other rather than the camera.
Do we need to plan a strict photography timeline?
Not at all.
I’m happy to work with your schedule as it unfolds and can offer gentle guidance if timings need a little adjustment. My approach is flexible and responsive rather than rigid.
How long do group photos take?
Group photos are kept as quick and stress-free as possible.
By starting with the largest groups first and working down, we usually have everything wrapped up efficiently — leaving you more time to enjoy your guests and your day.
What if it rains?
Rain is never a problem — it’s just part of the story.
I’ll adapt, find sheltered spots where needed, and work with the light and atmosphere on the day. Some of the most beautiful, emotional images happen in less-than-perfect weather.
Do you use flash?
I use natural light wherever possible, but I do use flash indoors and in the evening when needed to make sure your images are clear, well-lit, and true to the moment. It’s always used thoughtfully and without being intrusive.
Will you photograph details even if we haven’t styled them?
Yes.
I’ll capture details exactly as they are — the big things you’ve planned carefully and the smaller, quieter elements that come together naturally on the day.
How many photos will we receive?
Rather than a fixed number, you’ll receive a carefully curated gallery that tells the full story of your wedding day. Every image is chosen and edited with intention — no filler, no duplicates.
When will we receive our photos?
You’ll receive:

I always aim to deliver sooner where possible, but this timeframe ensures each gallery gets the attention it deserves.
How will our photos be delivered?
